It is with regret that, due to the COVID-19 virus, the CSRG David Love Vintage Races at Sonoma Raceway, May 29-31 is cancelled.
Sonoma Raceway says they might be able to accommodate a June or July event, provided local & state authorities allow it. The CSRG Board felt that, instead of putting our membership in a state of limbo with another postponement conditional upon the authorities approval, it would be best to cancel & consider another date after it is clear we would not be violating any edicts. We will try to give you as much advance notice as we can of any proposed event, but it may be as little as two weeks prior to it. This will seem last minute, but under the conditions everyone is operating, it’s not surprising.
Certainly there are a lot of factors that went into our decision, all of which you are very aware. The fact is it comes down to one element: safety. We realize that there is a lot of pent up desire to get out there, but we have to temper that enthusiasm with the presence of a danger to us outside of the on -track environment. Hopefully, over the coming weeks & months, the situation will improve, particularly in the areas of 1) virus testing, 2) improved treatment for the afflicted & 3) a reduced rate of infection despite recently relaxed protocols in some areas/states. Maybe all three areas will be successful, but the question is when? We are certainly not there yet, but fingers crossed for the future. We need to give it time to play out—hopefully in a good direction.

I would like to point out that Sonoma Raceway has bent over backwards to work with CSRG. This is no hollow, happy-face statement. We genuinely appreciate Sonoma Raceway's efforts & we are thankful to have them working alongside us.
All of us have had to deal with hardships & this is another one. Please know that we are doing everything to get you back on track as soon as it’s safe to do so.
